MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – FIU outdoor track & field wrapped up competition in Murfreesboro at the CUSA Outdoor Championships, with the women's team placing third overall after claiming ten total medals, 123.5 team points and two golds. The men's squad placed eighth.

The women's team got it off and running on day one, claiming two silver medals in the field events. Janiya Cesar (61.42m, hammer throw) and Nyla Fulvi (PR, 6.15m, long jump) both headed to the podium, the latter of whom earned her first of a two-medal weekend.

Fulvi wouldn't have to wait long for her second medal, kicking off day two in the heptathlon by getting bronze (5245, #3 in school history) only to be outdone by another strong performance in the event by freshman Itsaso Madariaga Huegun (5269, #2). These two performances were the starters in a great day on the women's side.

Sydney Nicholson followed up next with a silver of her own in the pole vault, claiming fifth in school history with a mark of 4.00m. She placed just ahead of teammate Kylie Neira in the event.

In the nightcap, it was the Panthers who shined in the women's high jump, finishing in the top two spots. Luca Keszthelyi (1.76m, gold) and Amaya Bien-Aime (1.73m, silver) stole the show, with Bien-Aime earning a medal for the third straight year.

Day three saw the lone medalist for the men's side in the morning, as Blake Orr continued his strong season with a silver in the javelin, carding a 66.64m throw. As has been the theme in 2026, the women's side also owned the javelin, with Isabell-Mary Luik (50.61m) earning gold and Arndis Oskarsdottir (50.24m) grabbing the silver.

To close out the evening and weekend, Danielle McGonigle added a silver medal in the triple jump. Her strong regular season in the event closed with a 12.89m jump and fourth-place mark in school history.
