LEXINGTON, Ky.– The NCAA East Regional saw three FIU track & field athletes punch their ticket to Eugene, Oregon for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with Amaya Bien-Aime, Janiya Cesar and Arndis Oskarsdottir continuing their seasons in the Pacific Northwest beginning on June 13.

In the very first event on Thursday in Lexington, Cesar immediately clinched a spot in Eugene, placing 11th in the hammer throw with a personal-best throw of 62.33m. That mark was a personal best, furthering her third-place hold in the FIU record books.

Oskarsdottir followed not long after in the javelin, and will head to Eugene for the second consecutive year. Her throw of 51.59m placed her sixth in the event behind athletes from Bucknell, Alabama, Auburn, Princeton and Vanderbilt.

Rounding out the weekend was Bien-Aime, who will head to Eugene for the first time in college. She jumped to a height of 1.82m, firmly tying for fifth behind athletes from Kentucky, Cincinnati, NC A&T and West Virginia. That mark pushed her into second place in school history in the event, unseating a mark of 1.80m set by Linda Loussaint in 2005.

FIU sent 11 athletes to Lexington, and below are how the other eight fared:

Men's
Agustin Carril, Pole Vault - T33rd, 5.05m
Raynell Chambers, 200m - 39th, 21.10
Blake Orr, Javelin - 15th, 65.97m

Women's
Selena Calix, Javelin - 47th, 42.07m
Luca Keszthelyi, High Jump - T24th, 1.76m

Danielle McGonigle, Triple Jump - 20th, 12.88m
Kylie Neira, Pole Vault - 15th, 4.22m (tied personal best)

The NCAA Championship will begin on June 10 at Hayward Field hosted by the University of Oregon.
