MIAMI — Women's Soccer (0-2-2) ended in a 1-1 draw against North Florida (1-1-1) on Sunday night at FIU Soccer Stadium, their second tying result of the season.
Both UNF and FIU missed early opportunities. The Ospreys saved two Panther chances, first stopping senior Adria Kitzinger's attempt at the 2:32 mark and then freshman Kelsi Hart's at 6:16.
UNF started off the scoring in the first half, netting an Osprey goal at the 30:57 mark, giving North Florida a 1-0 lead. The Panthers ended the half with a series of offensive efforts, including multiple shots and corner kicks, but failed to convert, trailing 1-0 at the break.
Out of the half, freshman Madeline Oliver scored her first goal as a Panthers in the 54th minute to equalize the match at 1-1. Senior Mariana Barreto was active offensively, taking multiple shots, including one hitting the top woodwork in the 56th minute. UNF had late chances, but were unable to find the leading score, ending the contest leveled at one a piece.
Oliver scored the sole goal for the Panthers, converting her only shot on target. Barreto led the offensive efforts with five shots, one of which was on goal. Kitzinger contributed with four shots, including two on target, while senior goalkeeper Valery Restrepo made one save in the contest, facing seven shots overall.
The Panthers registered 15 shots with 5 on target, exceeding their season average of 7.0 for the 2026-27 season, while North Florida managed 7 shots with 3 on target.
Looking ahead, the Panthers will travel to face Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday, Aug. 27. The match is set for 7 p.m. in Fort Myers, Florida.
