MIAMI – FIU men's soccer's Santi Possu was named to the American Conference Honorable Mention list, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
 
The graduate student is coming off another strong performance, tallying a brace in FIU's 2-2 draw against Memphis on Friday, Sept. 25. After trailing 2-0 at halftime, Possu leveled the match with a pair of second-half goals, helping the Panthers earn their first point of the 2026 season.
 
Possu has been sensational this season, leading the Panthers with six goals through seven matches and 12 total points. He also leads the team with 11 shots on goal. His six goals are tied for the conference lead and rank sixth nationally in goals per game at 0.86. In addition, he has scored in three consecutive matches, recording four goals during that stretch.
 
The honor marks Possu's third weekly conference award this season. He previously earned Honorable Mention recognition on Sept. 21 and was named American Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 31.
