Hall of Fame
Stewart (1988-93) was perhaps the most prolific player in school history, finishing his career as the only male player ever to score more than 2,000 points and as the solo holder of 30 school records and co-holder on five others. A dozen years later, he still owns or is tied for 15 school marks and his name appears among the top 10 performers in numerous FIU career and single-season leader lists. On Feb. 27, 1993, he became the first and only male basketbal lplayer to have his jersey retired. Stewart started 117 of 118 games played over his career, scoring 2,101 points for an average of 17.8 points per game. He was twice named a first-team All-Trans America Athletic Conference member and was a preseason All-America selection of Street& Smith's magazine prior to the 1989-90 season. In 1992-93, he helped FIU to a 20-10 record and a TAAC regular-season championship.
