FIU Continues To Lead at Pat Bradley Invite, Round Two

SARASOTA, FLA. (FIUSports.com) – Following second round competition at the 35th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, held on the Cypress Links course at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, the host Panthers continue to lead the field of 14 schools at 14-over (590) after 36 holes. FIU shot a six-over (294) in the second round.

Boston College (+29) jumped ahead of Cincinnati (+30) by one stroke to close the second round in second-place. Bradley (+33) and Daytona State (+34) round out the top five finishing schools after two rounds.

Daytona State's May Dawson fired a second-round tournament-low record 67 (-5) to help the Falcons jump from seventh-place tie into fifth. Dawson is at even-par (144) after two rounds.

FIU freshman Sophie Godley (Nottinghamshire, U.K.) continues to lead the Panthers remaining in second-place after 36 holes, one stroke behind Dawson, at one-over (145).
Godley, who began the first round in the fifth starter's position, started day two at the No. 1 spot and recorded a 74 (+2) for the second round.

Senior Tania Tare (Auckland, New Zealand) and Freshman Meghan MacLaren (Cambridge, U.K.) both jumped from a tie for 16th into fifth following Monday's second round with both at three-over (147). The duo each shot the second-lowest total of the second round, one-under (71).

Only Dawson (-5), Tare (-1) and MacLaren (-1) were below par on the second round.

In her first collegiate tournament, Jasmine Wade (Palm Harbor, Fla.), competing as an individual, is in a tie for 10th at seven-over (151). Wade was four-over (76) in round two.

FIU's defending tournament medalist, junior Shelby Coyle (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) fell into a tie for 15th at eight-over (152) with a second-round 78 (+6). Senior Yolecci
Jimenez's (Caracas, Venezuela) is 10-over (155) to tie for 22nd after 36 holes, after finishing round one in a tie for ninth. Jimenez was seven-over (79) on the second day of
competition. Freshman Carla Jane (Santiago, Chile) rounds out FIU scoring moving up to 36th from 40th among the 75 golfers at 14-over (158). Jane was six-over (78) on the
second day to move up in the standings.

Third round action begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.  FIU, Boston College and Cincinnati will once again pair up together in the first pairing. All results can also be found at Golfstat.com.
