LAKELAND, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2012) – The FIU swim team won a season-high 12 events in a 192-70 triumph over the Florida Southern College Mocs Saturday afternoon in Lakeland, Fla.

"We swam pretty well today," FIU Head Coach Randy Horner said. "I'm pleased with the number of season-best times despite being on the road. I think we are in a good place heading to our mid-season invite in Missouri."

Junior Sonia Perez won three events to bring her season wins total to eight. She swam an FIU season-high time of 4:20.97 in the 400 IM, as the Panthers took the top-three spots in the event, with sophomore Johanna Gustafsdottir and senior  Marina Ribi coming in second and third, respectively. She won her fifth event of the season by placing first in the 200 Back with a time of 2:07.23, just three seconds ahead of teammate, freshman Becky Wilde (2:10.13).
