MIAMI (Nov. 6, 2014) – The FIU swimming and diving team will look to make it a perfect 4-0 in dual meets this season when it hosts Illinois State on Friday at 5 p.m. This will mark the second home meet of the season for the Panthers at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.

Last Time Out
The FIU swimming and diving team picked up a 174-126 victory over Indian River State College on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Panthers improved to a perfect 3-0 this season in dual meets.

In total, FIU won seven events on the day. Two first year swimmers highlighted the day for the Panthers. Freshmen Brittney Fant and Silvia Scalia each earned two victories for the Panthers. Scalia's two victories came in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, while Fant won the 500 freestyle and the 200 butterfly.

Quesnel Earns Second Diver of the Week Award
For the second time in her short career, FIU freshman diver Rebecca Quesnel was named the Conference USA Diver of the Week, following her performance at Indian River last Saturday.

Quesnel continued her impressive start to her collegiate career as she secured two second-place scores in individual events against Indian River. FIU's top diver on the day received a score of 246.15 in the one-meter dive and a 286.75 in the three-meter. The freshman's three-meter score was her best this season and good for second in the league, while the 246.15-mark in the one-meter is third in the C-USA top scores this fall. This marks the second time this season Quesnel has been named Diver of the Week (Oct. 14).
