MIAMI (Feb. 12, 2015) – The FIU baseball team begins its 2015 season, hosting the Tennessee Volunteers in a three-game series at FIU Stadium beginning on Friday, Feb. 13. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Panthers enter their 42
nd season looking to make waves in year two of Conference USA action. Coming off a 2014 season, where the team went 36-20, FIU has been selected to finish No. 2 in this year's C-USA preseason coaches poll.
Led by seniors
Josh Anderson (preseason All-C-USA selection) and
Julius Gaines, FIU returns 15 letterwinners from a year ago. Sophomore
Chris Mourelle, the reigning C-USA Freshman of the Year, leads a pitching staff that finished last season with a 2.29 ERA.
The Panthers and Vols have met seven times prior to this weekend. Tennessee holds a 4-3 edge in the series history. The last meeting between the two squads resulted in a 4-3 win in 12 innings for the Volunteers on March 21, 2012 in Knoxville, Tenn.
