MIAMI (Feb. 17, 2015) – Coming off a series victory over the Tennessee Volunteers, the No. 23-ranked FIU baseball team (2-1) travels to DeLand, Fla., for a mid-week contest with Stetson on Wednesday, Feb. 18. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. from Melching Field at Conrad Park.

Robby Kalaf (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1K) will take the mound for the Panthers. The Hatters (1-2) will throw left-handed hurler Adam Schaly (0-1, 99.00 ERA, 1K).

FIU enters Wednesday game hitting .216 with a home run and eight RBI. Senior
Julius Gaines hit a team-best .375 this past weekend (3-of-8), while freshman
Mitchell Robinson hit .364 (4-of-11) in his FIU debut. Senior
Josh Anderson belted his first home run of the season and 13
th of his FIU career this past weekend. The San Diego, Calif., native had a team-best three RBI versus the Volunteers.
The FIU pitching staff held the Vols, who came into the weekend ranked No. 25 by D1Baseball.com, to a .192 team batting average. The Panthers tallied a 1.00 ERA with 30 strikeouts. Sophomore
Chris Mourelle had a solid start on Sunday, pitching five shutout innings, while junior
Danny Dopico notched the first win and first save of his FIU career over the weekend. Dopico finished the series with nine strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings pitched.
Stetson comes into Wednesday's game having lost 2-of-3 versus LaSalle last weekend. The Hatters are hitting .207 with two home runs and nine RBI. The Stetson pitching staff has a 5.67 ERA with 32 strikeouts.
Wednesday will mark the 99
th meeting all-time between the two teams, with Stetson holding a 57-41 edge in the series history. The last meeting between the two teams resulted in a 5-2 win for the Panthers last season (Feb. 19, 2014) in Miami.
