CONWAY, S.C. (Feb. 20, 2015) – The No. 23-ranked FIU baseball team (2-2) heads to Conway, S.C., to take part in the 16
th Annual Caravelle Resort's Baseball at the Beach Tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina.

The Panthers will face a pair of ACC foes on Saturday, Feb. 21, taking on No. 28 Georgia Tech (3-1) at 10:00 a.m. before squaring off against N.C. State (2-0) at 4:00 p.m. ET.
FIU will wrap up the weekend's action with a pair of games versus N.C. Central (1-2) on Sunday, Feb. 22. The first game is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. with the second one slated for 2:00 p.m.
FIU is coming off a tough loss at Stetson on Wednesday, dropping a 12-2 contest to the Hatters. Looking for their first win away from the FIU Baseball Stadium, the Panthers come into this weekend's action hitting .207 with two home runs and 10 RBI. Junior
Edwin Rios blasted his first home run of the season, with a two-run shot on Wednesday. The long ball was the 12
th of Rios' career. Senior
Julius Gaines, who went 1-for-3 versus the Hatters, is batting .364 on the year with an RBI and a run scored.
Sophomore
Cody Crouse will take the mound for the Panthers in game one. The Valrico, Fla., native has not recorded a decision this season and owns a 1.80 ERA, while striking out six. Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between FIU and Georgia Tech. Fellow sophomore
Chris Mourelle will face N.C. State in FIU's second game of the day. Mourelle (1-0) shut down Tennessee in his last outing, allowing just one hit in five shutout innings of action. It will be the first meeting between the Panthers and Wolfpack since the 1993 season. FIU trails the series history, 6-1.
On Sunday, a pair of freshmen will take the bump for the Panthers as FIU squares off with N.C. Central for the first time in school history. Right-hander
Garrett Cave will make is second start of the season in the 10:00 a.m. contest. Cave is 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA. Right-handed hurler
Andres Nunez will get the start in the 2:00 p.m. The Pembroke Pines, Fla., native has made two appearances on the year with a 0.00 ERA in two innings of action.
