MIAMI (March 12, 2015) – The FIU baseball team (8-9) will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (9-6-1) in a three-game set beginning on Friday, March 13. The series will be the Conference USA opener for both teams with first pitch of the series opener set for 7 p.m. ET tomorrow.
The series will continue on Saturday, March 14, at 3 p.m. and will wrap up on Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m.
On Friday, right-hander
Cody Crouse (1-1, 4.09 ERA, 18K) will take the mound for the Panthers. The Golden Eagles will throw right-handed hurler Christian Tally (1-3, 3.97 ERA, 21K). Saturday will feature right-hander
Andres Nunez (2-1, 0.87 ERA, 18K) versus right-hander Cody Carroll (0-0, 1.63 ERA, 20K). In Sunday's finale, sophomore
Chris Mourelle (3-1, 2.92 ERA, 17K) will get the start and will square off against James McMahon (3-0, 1.65 ERA, 24K).

The Panthers will look to rebound from a pair of midweek losses to Seton Hall (12-10) and Saint Joseph's (11-5) in Port Charlotte, Fla.
FIU comes into the weekend series hitting .259 with eight home runs and 90 RBI. The Panthers' pitching staff has recorded a 4.18 ERA with 148 strikeouts in 153 innings pitched.
This weekend's series will be the first meeting between the two squads.
