MIAMI (March 19, 2015) – The FIU baseball team (9-12, 1-2 C-USA) hosts the Charlotte 49ers (6-9, 0-6 C-USA) in a three-game set beginning on Friday, March 20. The series will mark the Conference USA home opener for the Panthers with first pitch of the series opener set for 7 p.m. ET.
The series will continue on Saturday, March 21, at 6 p.m. and will wrap up on Sunday, March 22, at 12:30 p.m.
On Friday, right-hander
Cody Crouse (2-1, 3.41 ERA, 19K) will take the mound for the Panthers. The 49ers will throw left-handed hurler Sean Geoghegan (1-1, 3.04 ERA, 19K). Saturday will feature right-hander
Andres Nunez (2-2, 1.78 ERA, 24K) versus left-hander J.D. Prochaska (1-1, 2.45 ERA, 26K). In Sunday's finale, sophomore
Chris Mourelle (3-2, 3.94 ERA, 18K) will get the start and will square off against Josh Maciejewski (1-1, 2.11 ERA, 12K).

The Panthers are looking to snap a three-game losing skid, having dropped the final two games of their series at Southern Miss (7-3 on Saturday, March 14; 10-0 [7] on Sunday, March 15) and falling to USF, 4-3, on Wednesday, March 18.
FIU comes into the weekend series hitting .259 with nine home runs and 102 RBI. The Panthers' pitching staff has recorded a 4.35 ERA with 169 strikeouts in 184 innings pitched.
FIU owns a 5-3 record all-time versus the 49ers, including a three-game sweep of Charlotte last season.
