@FIUBaseball Hosts UTSA is a Three-Game Series this Weekend

MIAMI (April 2, 2015) – The FIU baseball team (13-16, 5-4 C-USA) will play host to the UTSA Roadrunners (16-13, 5-4 C-USA) in a three-game Conference USA series beginning Friday, April 3. First pitch for the series opener is set for 7 p.m. ET.
 
The series will continue on Saturday, April 4, at 4:30 p.m. and will wrap up on Sunday, April 5, at 1 p.m. Saturday's game will air on the American Sports Network (ASN) with Ron Thulin (play-by-play) and Pat Combs (color analyst) on the call.
 
On Friday, right-hander Cody Crouse (3-2, 3.46 ERA, 25K) will take the mound for the Panthers. The Roadrunners will throw right-handed hurler Brock Hartson (1-2, 4.03 ERA, 41K). Saturday will feature right-hander Andres Nunez (3-2, 2.65 ERA, 33K) versus right-hander Aaron Burns (5-1, 1.39 ERA, 18K). In Sunday's finale, sophomore Chris Mourelle (5-2, 3.40 ERA, 26K) will get the start and will square off against left-hander Nolan Trabanino (0-4, 6.35 ERA, 20K).

FIU has won two-straight C-USA series, taking 2-of-3 from Charlotte (March 20-22) and Marshall (March 27-29).
 
The Panthers come into the weekend hitting .265 with 18 home runs and 150 RBI. The team's 18 homers ranks No. 3 in the conference. On the hill, FIU's pitching staff has tallied a 4.00 ERA with 238 strikeouts in 254 and one-third innings pitched.
 
This weekend's series will mark the first meeting all-time between the two teams.
