MIAMI (Sept. 17, 2015) – The FIU volleyball team (7-2) picked up its fourth-straight victory with a 3-1 (25-19,19-25, 25-23,25-19) win over the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (2-10) on Thursday afternoon during the 2015 FIU Invite.
Playing in their first home match since Aug. 29, the Panthers improved to 3-1 on Lime Court at FIU Arena this season and to 24-0 all-time versus the Wildcats with Thursday's win.

Lucia Castro and
Gloria Levorin led FIU with 14 kills apiece. Castro added 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season, while Levorin hit. 565 in the contest and notched seven total blocks to increase her team lead to 37 on the year. Senior
Adriana McLamb registered a team-high 14 digs in the match while freshman
Maria McLamb tallied 11.
FIU jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a 25-19 first-set victory. B-CU responded with a 25-19 win of its own in the second set to knot the match up a 1-all. The Panthers held the Wildcats to a .116 hitting percentage in set number three to take a 2-1 lead with a 25-23 victory and used a .303 hitting percentage in set four to take the match, 4-1 (25-19).
FIU finished the match hitting .199 while Bethune-Cookman recorded a hitting percentage of .202. Both sides recorded 12.0 total blocks with FIU holding an 8-4 edge in service aces in a match that saw 11 lead changes.
The Panthers will next face the UCF Knights later tonight at 7 p.m.
