@FIUVolleyball Falls to UCF, 3-0

MIAMI (Sept. 17, 2015) – The FIU volleyball team (7-3) fell to the UCF Knight (6-5), 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-22) on Thursday evening from Lime Court at FIU Arena.
 
The loss snapped a four-match winning streak for the Panthers, who came into the match having defeated Bethune-Cookman (3-1) earlier in the day.
 
FIU was led by senior Lucia Castro, who posted a team-high eight kills to go along with 11 digs. Senior Adriana McLamb notched a team-best 15 digs in the outing. Junior Katie Hogan had a solid night, hitting .333 with five kills versus the Knights.
 
FIU was out-hit by UCF, .309 to .071, committing 17 attacking errors and just 25 kills. The Panthers notched 8.5 team blocks, while the Knight totaled 7.0. UCF had five services aces to FIU two.
 
After dropping the first set 25-12, FIU fell behind in set two, 25-15. The team came out of the break looking to get on the board, battling the Knights in the third, but came up short, 25-22.
 
The Panthers will next host the Seattle Redhawks on Friday, Sept. 18 in the final game of the 2015 FIU Invite. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
