The Basics
- Joris Ahlinvi (Gujan-Mestras, France) scored his second double-overtime game-winning goal in as many games, when he beat USF goalkeeper Kazuna Takase in the 107' minute to propel the FIU men's soccer team to a thrilling 3-2 win over the Bulls at the FIU Soccer Stadium. The win lifts the Panthers to .500 for the first time this season – at 7-7 overall – while the Bulls drop to 5-7-2 on the year. It was the final non-conference match for both schools.

- Ahlinvi, whose winner was his seventh goal of the season, and his team-leading fourth game-winner, took a short pass from Mohamed Conde (Philadelphia, Pa.) just five yards from the goal on the left side of the box and pushed the ball towards the goal on the end line. He took one shot that was blocked but got his rebound and fired it between the legs of Takase. Ahlinvi also played the hero in the Panthers' last match against Florida Atlantic, on Oct. 19, sending the Owls home with a 3-2 loss following his winner in the 101' minute.

- FIU's first two goals were registered by two players netting their first scores of their collegiate careers. Jacqeus Bouvery (Washington, D.C) started the scoring off in the 14' minute when he took a pass from Inigo Sagarduy (Coral Gables, Fla./Belen Jesuit Prep) and Kimani Simons (Miami, Fla./Krop), beating Takase. Then, after USF scored two-straight to take a 2-1 lead, Errol Spence (Miramar, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter School) beat a defender at the point, about 19 yards out, took a shot, controlled the rebound and put it past the Bulls' keeper in the 78' minute of play. That goal evened the contest up eventually leading to Ahlinvi's heroics.

- On the night, the Panthers held a 19-14 shots advantage and a slight 5-4 edge in shots on goal.

- Hugo Fauroux (Cannes, France) recorded his third win of the season, and his second-consecutive, while stopping two shots.

- Since starting the season 0-3 and then 1-4 through the first five matches, the Panthers have turned in a 6-3 slate in their last nine, including three of their four overtime victories.
