MIAMI (Sept. 6, 2018) – The FIU women's soccer team hits the road for a pair of matches in Texas this weekend, as the Panthers seek their first win of the season.
FIU will face Texas Tech on Friday, at 8 p.m. ET, before closing out the weekend against SMU on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.

TEXAS TECH PREVIEW
Texas Tech posted a 9-7-3 record last season, while going 2-4-3 in conference action. The Red Raiders are off to a 4-1-0 start this season, posting a 1-0 win over versus No. 18 Pepperdine and a 1-0 loss to Boston College last time out.
SMU PREVIEW
The Mustangs turned in an 10-7-3 record last season, while going, 4-4-1 in league play. SMU has posted a 3-1-1 record this season, with wins over DePaul (2-1) and Rice (2-1), while dropping their only game to Long Beach State.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Panthers and Red Raiders have never met. SMU holds a 6-1- advantage over the Panthers with the last match against FIU coming in 2010, a 1-0 defeat.

The FIU women's soccer program enters year two in the
Sharolta Nonen era, after she became just the team's third head coach in school history in 2017.
NEW YEAR, NEW US
There will be many fresh faces in 2018 for FIU women's soccer, with a total of 17 newcomers to the roster this fall. Of that total, 13 are true freshmen and four are transfers.
