Ce'Nara Skanes earned her seventh double-double of the season to lead FIU past Florida Atlantic on Saturday, as the Panthers downed the Owls 56-49.
With the win, the Panthers are 5-22 overall and 2-12 in league play. FAU falls to 5-22 overall and 2-12 in C-USA action.
Skanes earned her seventh double-double of the season, with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Chelsea Guimaraes chipped in 11 points to aid in the FIU victory, which was the junior's 13th double-figure game of the season. FAU's Jamaria Williams led the Owls with 20 points on the afternoon.
FIU took the lead in the first quarter with a 16-13 advantage before scoring 19 points to push its lead to 35-20 at the end of the second quarter. After an 11-9 third quarter advantage, the Panthers put the game away in the final 10 minutes after outscoring the Owls 20-10 to earn the 56-49 victory.
