MIAMI (Feb. 26, 2019) – After a quick trip to the Gulf Coast, the FIU baseball team returns home looking to stay perfect in midweek games against crosstown rival Miami.

AT THE PLATE
Lorenzo Hampton, Jr. has come out of the gates on fire to start the 2019 season. FIU's lone senior leads the Panthers in a number of offensive categories including batting average (.500), hits (11), doubles (5), slugging (.955), total bases (21) and runs scored (8). Sophomore
Adan Fernandez homered twice last week and drove in four to assist Hampton in the Panther efforts at the plate.
LAST TIME OUT
FIU traveled to Port Charlotte for the first road trip of the season this past weekend to take on the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State. The Panthers split the two-game series behind the dominate performance of starting pitcher
Logan Allen on Friday. The sophomore went six scoreless innings while only allowing two hits and striking out 10 Jackrabbits.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will head to the Deep South for a three-game weekend set at Jacksonville State before returning home for the longest homestand of the season starting on March 5th with Florida A&M.
