LAST TIME OUT
The FIU rally fell just short against crosstown rival Miami on Wednesday night. FIU's six unanswered over the final three innings made things interesting in the ninth before the Hurricanes closed out the game. The Panther trio of Seth Cannady, Austin Shenton and Javier Valdes all homered in the game.
AT THE PLATE
The Panther bats are averaging just a tick over seven runs per game and rank sixth in C-USA entering the weekend matchup with Jacksonville State. FIU is led offensively by lone senior Lorenzo Hampton, Jr. who is the team leader in batting average (.481), hits (13), doubles (5), slugging (.852), total bases (23) and runs scored (10).
