AT THE PLATE
The Panthers had one of the more interesting weekends at the plate during the three-game sweep of Seton Hall. FIU scored 17 runs over the course of the weekend on only 12 hits. Panther batters walked 22 times on the weekend and were plunked eight times by Pirate pitching.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU fell in a midweek matchup with in-state foe Stetson by a score of 8-5. The Panther pair of John Rodriguez and Jose Garcia led FIU at the plate with each blasting home runs deep into the Miami night. FIU fell behind 3-0, before Garcia stepped to the plate in the second inning and smoked a 2-1 pitch that landed over the fence. Stetson added two runs in the third before Javier Valdes scored on a Hatter error. Stetson led by as many as six runs before Rodriguez turned on the first pitch he saw in the fourth inning to cut the Hatter lead to 8-5. Vlad Nunez of Stetson was awarded the save as both bullpens did not allow a run after the fourth inning.

UP NEXT
FIU returns to Florida on March 20th to take on in-state foe Florida State in Tallahassee before a three-game weekend set in Miami with WKU to open the home C-USA campaign.
