MIAMI (March 15, 2019) - The FIU softball team will host WKU for its Conference USA series opener on March 16-17. The Panthers and Hilltoppers will play two on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with a Sunday first pitch set for noon. All three games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.

LAST TIME OUT
The FIU softball team fell to Notre Dame on Wednesday, as the Panthers dropped an 8-0 decision to the Irish. The Panthers are now 17-9 on the year.

IN THE CIRCLE
Reining C-USA Pitcher of the Week Megan Kugelmann leads the Panthers in the circle, after earning a 6-2 record thus far. The senior has pitched 68.1 innings, allowing just 19 earned runs and striking out 52 batters.

AT THE PLATE
Jackie Schoff  leads the Panthers at the plate, with the senior averaging .369 with 18 runs, 31 hits (ranks second in C-USA), and nine RBIs. Schoff has collected three doubles, three triples (tied for second in C-USA) and five walks. Fellow senior Natalie Orcutt, who leads the team with 17 RBIs, is hitting .324 at the plate with 12 runs. Orcutt also owns six doubles, a triple and a homer this season as well.

UP NEXT
The Panthers will host Buffalo for a midweek doubleheader clash on Tuesday, March 19. The Panthers and Bulls will play two games on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
