MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (March 24, 2019) - The FIU softball team couldn't avoid a sweep on Sunday afternoon, as host Middle Tennessee took a 5-0 decision.
With the loss, FIU falls to 18-15 on the year and 0-6 in C-USA play. Middle Tennessee improves to 18-15 overall and 4-2 in league action.
FIU's
Kendahl Dunford suffered the loss after allowing four runs in two innings of work.
Allison Muraskin entered the game in the third, allowing just one run in four innings of relief.
At the plate,
Natalie Orcutt led the Panthers after going 2-for-4 on the day.
Jessica Rivera,
Madison Lewis and
Brittany Phillips each collected one hit.
The Blue Raiders scored one in the first, two in the second and two in the third as MT held on to its 5-0 advantage for the win.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will return home for a weekend home series against North Texas on March 30-31.
