The Basics
- The No. 8 FIU beach volleyball team returned to the sand on Wednesday and dominated Florida Southern, 5-0, at the Judy and Joe P. Ruthven Beach Volleyball Courts in Lakeland. The win improves the Panthers' record  to 14-9 overall, while the Mocs drop to 11-12. FIU only allowed the Mocs to reach double figures in four of its 10 sets on the day.

- The Panthers made quick work of Florida Southern, winning the dual in less than 40 minutes. Lina Bernier and Madison Besterfield – Besterfield hailing from nearby Tampa – dominated court five with a 21-8, 21-5 straight-set win. FIU followed with Abbie Hughes and Ali Denney taking court three, 21-12, 21-8, and then Katie Friesen and Nina Petranovic securing the dual win, earning the third point on court four, 21-15, 21-14.  

- Federica Frasca and Margherita Bianchin would win in straight sets on court one (21-11, 21-7) and Dorina and Ronja Klinger completed the sweep, for the Panthers, winning on court two (21-8, 21-7).

FIU will close out the 2019 regular season when it faces Stetson, in Boca Raton, at the FAU Beach Volleyball Courts, April 12, at 12 p.m. Following its single dual with the Owls, the Panthers will head to the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships, April 19-21, in Emerson, Georgia, at the LakePoint Sports Complex.
