MIAMI (April 11, 2019) – After capping the longest road swing of the season with a series win at Rice, the FIU baseball team (13-19, 4-8 Conference USA) comes home to host Southern Miss (20-10, 10-2) for a three-game set.
First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday, followed by a 6 p.m. ET start time on Saturday and a 12 p.m. ET matinee to close out the weekend on Sunday.

Javier Valdes led FIU by knocking 14 runs and homering five times.
LAST TIME OUT
The FIU baseball team got back in the winning column this past week, after taking its series over Rice on the road. After dropping a heartbreaking walk-off loss on Wednesday to non-conference opponent Houston, the Panthers took two-out-of-three on the weekend from C-USA foe Rice. Both wins came in Saturday's doubleheader behind the bats of
Garcia,
Shenton and
Valdes.
UP NEXT
Following the conclusion of the Southern Miss series, FIU returns to the road for a midweek with Bethune-Cookman before an Easter weekend series at Old Dominion. The road trip concludes on April 24th with a journey crosstown to take on the Miami Hurricanes.
