AT THE PLATE
The Panther bats have come alive recently, with FIU scoring 56 runs in six games including a 13 spot against Rice and 16 against Southern Miss on Saturday. The hard hitting trio of
Jose Garcia,
Austin Shenton and
Javier Valdes lead FIU by knocking in 25 runs and homering eight times.
LAST TIME OUT
FIU's return home from the longest road swing of the season was a rousing success. The Panthers took two of three from the nationally-ranked Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The weekend saw two brilliant pitching performances from
Logan Allen and
Nick MacDonald, while Garcia and Shenton led the FIU bats. Allen's career-high 13 strikeout performance on Friday night earned the sophomore his third weekly league honor as he nabbed C-USA Pitcher of the Week laurels.
UP NEXT
Following the conclusion of Tuesday's game with Bethune-Cookman, FIU will head north for a three-game Easter weekend set with Old Dominion before returning to the 305 for a midweek with Miami on April 24th.
