AT THE PLATE
The Panther bats have been led by
Lorenzo Hampton, Jr. at the dish this season, with the senior batting .312 on the year with 29 hits and 13 RBIs.
Austin Shenton holds the team lead in runs batted in, after earning 22 so far on the year. Shenton and
Javier Valdes have each knocked five balls out of the park this season to top the Panthers in home runs.
LAST TIME OUT
It was a tough week on the diamond for Panthers as they dropped a pair of series to FGCU and FAU.
Logan Allen continues to shine for FIU on the mound and the plate however, as evident of his play last week. Despite being handed the loss on Friday, the sophomore pitched six innings of two earned run ball with five strikeouts. Allen proved he can swing the stick as well, after going 4-for-6 in Sunday's 15-inning marathon game and finished just a triple shy of the cycle.
UP NEXT
The tour of Houston continues on the weekend with a three-game set with Rice across town.
