MIAMI (April 23, 2019) – For the final game of a five-game road trip, the FIU baseball team (17-22, 7-11 Conference USA) looks to even the season series against crosstown foe Miami (27-14, 11-10 ACC) on Wednesday night.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field. Wednesday's game will be streamed on

AT THE PLATE
The turning of the calendar to April has signaled an awakening in the FIU bats. Since April 1, FIU batters are averaging 7.5 runs-per-game. Which is a full two runs more than the season average of 5.3.
Austin Shenton has led the renaissance at the plate with 18 RBIs and a 12-game hit streak during the same span.
Jose Garcia has smashed five dingers, while driving in 16 runs to assist in the offensive effort.
LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers split a four-game road trip that started with 7-4 victory at Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday before heading up north for a three-game set with Old Dominion. The Blue and Gold split the Saturday doubleheader by exploding for 12-runs in the nightcap before falling in the Sunday series finale.
UP NEXT
The Panthers return to 8th street on Friday to kickstart the longest homestand of the season with a three-game set against the 49ers of Charlotte. First pitch on Friday is slated for 7 p.m. at FIU Baseball Stadium.
