MIAMI (April 9, 2019) - The FIU softball team returns to Felsberg Field on Wednesday, April 10 as the Panthers host Florida Gulf Coast for a midweek doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. ET, with the second game starting at approximately 6 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
The FIU softball team won its first C-USA series of the season over the weekend, as the Panthers took two-of-three from Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton. After dropping a tough 5-2 decision to open the series, the Panthers bounced back nicely as FIU won back-to-back contests with a 11-9 and 5-2 pair of victories. FIU was led by senior Natalie Orcutt at the plate, who hit .455 at the dish with five hits and four RBIs.

IN THE CIRCLE
Megan Kugelmann leads the Panthers in the circle, after earning a 6-4 record thus far. The senior has pitched 86.1 innings and owns a team-low 3.44 ERA.

AT THE PLATE
Jackie Schoff leads the Panthers at the plate, with the senior averaging .322 with 20 runs, 38 hits and 10 RBIs. Schoff has collected three doubles, three triples and nine walks. Senior Orcutt leads the team with 24 RBIs after batting .313 and earning 36 hits. 

UP NEXT
The Panthers will host conference foe Marshall for a three game series on April 13-14. FIU and Marshall will play two on Saturday with first pitch set at 4:00 p.m. ET, while the series finale will be on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
