MIAMI (Feb. 27, 2020) - The FIU softball team will head to Longwood, Florida over the weekend as the Panthers take part in the Spring Games. Action is slated to begin on Friday, Feb. 28.
The Panthers will play five times over the weekend, beginning with Dartmouth (3:30 p.m. ET) and Kentucky (6:00 p.m. ET) on Friday, Feb. 28, to kickoff the tournament. FIU will also face Detroit Mercy (11:00 a.m. ET) and Albany (1:30 p.m. ET) on Saturday, Feb. 29 before closing out the tournament on Sunday, March 1 against Western Michigan (9:00 a.m. ET).

LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers visited Tampa, Florida, as they took part in the USF Tournament to open road action for FIU.
MURASKIN IN THE CIRCLE
Allison Muraskin helped lead the Panthers to a pair of Power 5 wins, as the junior posted a 0.47 ERA average during the Felsberg Invitational. The Deerfield Beach, Florida native pitched two complete games and 15 innings, allowing just eight hits and no earned runs over three games. The junior also fanned six batters and picked up two wins. After a stellar performance in the circle, Muraskin was named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week along with Hope Trautwein of North Texas, the league office announced on Monday, Feb. 10.
AT THE PLATE
Alexis Johns spearheads the Panthers at the plate, as the sophomore has averaged .444 so far this season. Johns leads the team with 12 hits while scoring four times in the lead-off spot.
UP NEXT
FIU softball will return home to host the Panther Invitational from March 5-7. The Panthers will welcome Tulsa, Ball State, Samford and Maryland to Miami.
