MIAMI (Feb. 28, 2020) - The FIU women's basketball team will close out road play for the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 29 as the Panthers head to Charlotte, North Carolina to face the Charlotte 49ers. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. ET.

CHARLOTTE 49ERS PREVIEW
The 49ers are 19-7 overall and 10-5 in conference play. Charlotte is on a five-game winning streak, picking up victories against UTSA (67-47), North Texas (72-59), Rice (62-51), Old Dominion (63-59) and Southern Miss (59-55). 

INSIDE THE SERIES
FIU trails 1-8 in the all-time series against Charlotte. The Panthers and 49ers last faced earlier this season in Miami, as FIU fell 64-50 to Charlotte on Jan. 25, 2020.

JISELLE ON THE COURT 
Jiselle Thomas posted a triple-double on Saturday, Jan. 18 against Middle Tennessee after earning 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals. Thomas became just the fifth player in program history to record a triple-double and the first since 2002 for the Panthers. In addition, Thomas was the ninth player in C-USA history to achieve the feat. The Norwalk, Ohio native leads the team in points per game (11.2), free throws per game (2.4) and steals per game (1.2), while ranking second in assists per game (1.6) and rebounds per game (4.5). 

CHELSEA IN THE STATS
Almada, Portugal native Chelsea Guimaraes leads the team and ranks 10th in C-USA for rebounds per game (7.4), while topping FIU in blocked shots per game (1.2) and ranking second in points per game (9.8) and free throws per game (2.0).
