MIAMI (Feb. 5, 2020) - The 2020 softball season will begin on Thursday for FIU as the Panthers host the Felsberg Invitational. 

Opening Day will see FIU face Cal at 5:00 p.m. ET. The Panthers will play three more times over the weekend, with games on Friday against Penn State (5:00 p.m.) and Michigan State (7:00 p.m.). The final game of the weekend for FIU will be on Saturday against Syracuse (10:00 a.m.).

Opening Day will be streamed on ESPN3, while Friday's games will be streamed on CUSA.tv. Live stats for all games during the Felsberg Invitational can be found here.

FIU softball enters its first season under the guidance of head coach Chris Steiner-Wilcoxson, as the Panthers are seeking a return to the C-USA Softball Championship for the first time since 2018 after earning a 26-27 mark during the 2019 season. FIU will be led by sophomore Alexis Johns who earned a spot on the 2019 C-USA All-Freshman team.

UP NEXT
After the opening weekend, the Panthers will hit the road and head to Tampa, Florida to participate in the USF Tournament (Feb. 21-23).
