MIAMI (March 31, 2021) - The FIU softball team will travel to Boca Raton on April 1-2, as the Panthers take on the FAU Owls for a three-game series. 

Thursday will feature a doubleheader starting at 5:00 p.m., before concluding the series on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Live stats for all three games can be found here.

FIU NOTES
Venessa Gallegos has hit .318 on the year to lead the Panthers at the plate, with a team-best 18 RBI. Jessica Rivera has hit three homers in her last eight games, with a team-high 23 base knocks overall for the year. 

SCOUTING THE FOE
FAU enters the series with a 6-18 record overall, with its last game coming against FIU on March 21. The Panthers and Owls have faced off twice this season, with each team taking a game. Kaitlyn Burke leads the Owls at the plate, hitting .328 and driving in nine runs. Lynn Gardner has pitched 72 innings for the Owls in the circle, earning a 3.99 ERA. 

UP NEXT
FIU will be idle next week, before traveling to Charlotte on April 16-18 for a four-game series. The next home series for the Panthers will be on April 23-25 against the Marshall Thundering Herd.
