MIAMI (April 22, 2021) - The FIU softball team returns home to host Marshall on April 23-25, as the Panthers and Thundering Herd battle for a four-game series at Felsberg Field.
FIU and Marshall will face off on Friday at 5 p.m., before a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m., and concluding the series on Sunday at 11 a.m.

GALLEGOS HAS BIG WEEKEND
Venessa Gallegos had a monster weekend at the plate last time out, with the Panther earning C-USA Hitter of the Week honors for her efforts. Gallegos hit .750 for the weekend, with nine runs batted in. Gallegos had nine total hits, highlighted by a homer and a triple in the final game of the weekend series at Charlotte. Gallegos was a double-shy of hitting for the cycle in FIU's 11-8 win over the 49ers last Sunday, as she notched three hits and earned seven RBI.
SCOUTING THE FOE
Marshall enters the weekend with a 15-8 record and 4-4 mark in C-USA play. The Herd took three out of four over FAU last time out to earn their first C-USA series win of the year. Aly Harrell leads the squad with a .413 average this season, with 26 hits eight homers and 23 RBI. In the circle, Cailey Joyce has pitched a team-high 42.1 innings with a team-low 2.65 ERA and 3-1 record this year.
UP NEXT
FIU concludes the regular season home slate against WKU on April 30-May 2. Senior Day festivities will be held between games of Saturday's doubleheader.
