MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (May 15, 2021) - The FIU baseball team split its doubleheader with Middle Tennessee on Saturday, as the Panthers took game one against the Blue Raiders, 2-1.
Trailing 1-0 in Saturday's first game,
Dante Girardi doubled to center field to bring home
Steven Ondina and tie the game in the fifth inning before a
Luis Chavez RBI single in the sixth frame gave the Panthers the lead for good.
Tyler Myrick pitched the full seven innings on the mound, allowing no earned runs and striking out four batters on Saturday. The win for Myrick moves his record to 7-3 on the year.
The Panthers dropped the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, as MTSU picked up a 5-0 win.

FIU and MTSU play the series finale on Sunday, with first pitch slated for Noon ET at Reese Smith Jr. Field in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
