MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (May 16, 2021) - The FIU baseball team took the series finale over Middle Tennessee in extra innings, as the Panthers ousted the Blue Raiders 11-9 in 12 innings.
After mounting a three-run rally in the ninth to force extras, the Panthers scored a pair of runs in the 12th to finally put away the Blue Raiders and take the Sunday series finale.

Mario Zabala stole home a couple batters later to give the Panthers the eventual 11-9 victory.
Cannady led the Panthers at the plate on Sunday, after earning a pair of hits and four RBI. He also slugged a two-run homer in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to just 7-5.
Angel Tiburcio earned the win in relief, as he pitched four innings, allowed no earned runs and struck out five batters.

FIU makes the short trip to Nashville to face nationally-ranked Vanderbilt on Tuesday, May 18. First pitch between the Panthers and Commodores is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
