2022 FIU SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

MIAMI – The FIU softball team will have 24 home dates and host three tournaments during the month of February as features of its 2022 schedule, which was officially released on Friday.
 
The 2022 campaign, which also marks head coach Mike Larabee's inaugural year at the helm of the program, will see the Panthers battle a total of four opponents who qualified for NCAA postseason play last season, including Tennessee, Florida State, UNC Greensboro and Western Kentucky.
 
"I am very excited about the challenges presented in our 2022 schedule," Larabee said.  "The non-conference season will prepare us for the competition that awaits us in Conference USA.  We are looking forward to hosting three tournaments in the early part of the year that feature some solid opponents which will test us in different ways."
 
The Panthers will get 2022 underway with the Felsberg Invitational, which will include UNC Greensboro, Maryland and Tennessee.  The three teams, along with FIU will square off for three days of action from Friday, Feb. 11 through Sunday, Feb. 13.
 
Following a single road game at Stetson on Tuesday, Feb. 15, FIU will host a tournament for the second straight weekend with the Panther Invitational on Feb. 18-20.  The Panthers will welcome Buffalo, Cleveland State and Penn State to FIU Softball Stadium for the three-day event.
 
The final tournament of the month of February will see Brown, South Dakota, Drexel and Stony Brook trek south for the FIU Softball Invitational on Feb. 25-27.
 
The Panthers other early season non-conference matchups include a single home contest vs. UCF (Feb. 23) and a doubleheader vs. St. John's (March 2).  FIU will travel to Deland, Fla., for a second time for a three-game set with Stetson on March 4-6.
 
FIU's final non-conference series of the season will see the Panthers take on Florida State in a twin bill slated for Saturday, March 26 (1 p.m.).
 
The Panthers will open Conference USA action on March 11-13 at home vs. UAB.  Other home conference series include showdowns with Middle Tennessee State (April 8-10), FAU (April 22-24) and Charlotte (April 29-May 1).
 
FIU will meet conference foes Louisiana Tech (March 18-20), Western Kentucky (April 1-3), Marshall (April 14-16) and UTSA (May 6-8) on the road.
 
The 2022 Conference USA Softball Championship is scheduled for May 11-14 in Denton, Texas.
