MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (January 28, 2022) -
Filippa Miller reset her own school record, while
Kristin Lubeskie and Nicole Janse Van Rensburg set the number two and three all time FIU indoor marks in the event Friday at the Jack Johnson Classic.
"It's terrific to see Filippa continue to break records, and the entire pole vault group is really doing an incredible job," said head coach
Ryan Heberling. "It's a testament to the work that Coach Sullivan and the athletes put in each day."
Miller jumped 4.09m (13'5") to break her previous best that she set two weeks ago at UAB and win the event. Lubeskie vaulted 3.99m (13'1") to place third, and Van Rensburg's mark of 3.89m (12'9") earned her a fourth place spot.
The Panthers also excelled in the pentathlon, with Atene Slizeviciute earning the victory with a score of 3542 points. Slizeviciute won the high jump and the 800 during the event.
Maika Cuenca placed second in the pentathlon, while
Fabiola Declet came in fourth.
In Columbia at the South Carolina Invitational,
Andrea Loizidou set a personal best in the 3000, placing fifth with a time of 10:05, just outside FIU's all-time top five in the event.
Emilie Christiansen placed 12th in her indoor debut with a time of 10:24.
The Panthers will return to action at both locations Saturday morning.
