MIAMI – The FIU softball team will host the 2022 FIU Softball Invitational this weekend which will feature a total of five teams playing 13 games over a three-day stretch from Friday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 26 at the FIU Softball Stadium.
 
The Panthers will host Brown, Drexel, South Dakota and Stony Brook during the three-day event, which gets started on Friday, Feb. 24 with the first game beginning at 9 a.m. ET. 
 
Friday and Saturday will see a total of five games played each day and will conclude with three games on Sunday.
 
FIU will open play on Friday at 4:30 p.m. vs. South Dakota in the first of back-to-back games.  The Panthers will follow the meeting with the Coyotes with a game against Stony Brook at 7 p.m.
 
The Panthers will battle Drexel at 2 p.m. on Saturday before facing Brown at 7 p.m.  FIU will close out the event with a pair of games on Sunday against Brown (11:30 a.m.) and Drexel (2 p.m.).
 
This will mark the third consecutive weekend that the FIU softball team has hosted a multi-team event to start the season.  The Panthers are currently 4-7 overall.
