GAINESVILLE, Fla (January 21, 2022) - The FIU track and field team competed at the RADD College Invitational Thursday and Friday, held at the Alachua County Sports Complex in Gainesville, Florida. 

Sophomore Nicole Janse Van Rensburg highlighted the action for FIU in the pole vault, with a personal best mark of 4.00m that earned the victory in the event.

Van Rensburg has now placed second or first in all three meets she has competed in this season. 

In the high jump, freshman Celia Rifaterra's mark of 1.75m places her third all-time in FIU indoor history in the event, and was also good for second place in Gainesville. 

"Nicole and Celia both had very impressive performances," said FIU head coach Ryan Heberling. "These marks early in the year are indicative of the way each has been working." 

The Panthers saw impressive performances across the event list as well. Gabby Bryan earned a second place mark in the weight throw, Morgan Juarez placed second in the pole vault, Marqueisha Weeks second in shot put, and Fabiola Declet third in the 60m hurdles. 

FIU will be back in action next weekend, competing in the Bob Pollock Invite at Clemson.
