MIAMI (Feb. 22, 2022) – Baseball is back at home for a four-game set against the SEC's Missouri. Game one is on Thursday February 23 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. and the series concluding with a game on Sunday February 26 at 12:00 p.m.

The trio of junior
Ryne Guida, redshirt seniors
Alec Sanchez and
Mike Rosario have led the Panthers offense through four games.

Guida is FIU's leading hitter having gone 7-16 with a team-high eight RBI, a double and a homerun.

Sanchez has seven hits of his own to go with a double, a home run and a four-game hitting streak. He has also picked up multiple hits in the last three games.

Rosario is hitting .429 with four RBI and a team-high two homeruns. He has also registered at least one hit in each of the first four games of the season.

Depth is key to FIU's pitching in 2023 with 15 different arms having made an appearance through four games.

FIU drove in at least one run in five of eight innings they batted in. Six different players contributed to the teams 12 hits with three players earning multiple hits.

The Panthers showed power, hitting multiple balls to the warning track and sending two over the wall against the Wildcats.

FIU hitters also showed great patience in the batter's box, drawing six walks. Juniors
Cesar Franco and
Dante Girardi both drew two walks against Bethune-Cookman, with Girardi now leading the team with five walks in 2023.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The Tigers are 2-1 to start the season after competing in the College Baseball Showdown. They most recently defeated TCU, 9-8.

Junior Ross Lovich has powered the Missouri offense early on in 2023. He is hitting .364 with a double, a home run and a team-high four RBI.

On the mound, sophomore Tony Neubeck put in a solid performance in his 2023 debut. In 3.2 innings of work against Oklahoma State he allowed no runs, gave up only one hit and struck out nine batters.

Missouri leads the all-time series with FIU, 6-1. The Panthers won the last meeting between the two sides, defeating the Tigers 11-5 in 2018 at FIU Baseball Stadium.
