MIAMI (Mar. 23, 2023) – Baseball hosts Alabama-Birmingham for a three-game C-USA series this weekend. Game one is on Friday March 24 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
 
HITTING ON ALL CYLINDERS
FIU currently boasts five players hitting above .300 after 22 games.
 
Junior Dante Girardi is the hottest bat in the lineup, currently on a 12-game hit streak. He has raised his average to a team-best .351, is third on the team in hits with 27, has reached home a team-high 24 times, has the most walk with 16 and has racked up 10 RBI.
 
Junior Ryne Guida sits second in average and hits at .337 and with 28, respectively. He is also the team leader in RBI with 28.
 
Leadoff man Mike Rosario is hitting .322 and leads the team in hits, home runs and steals with 29, four and 10, respectively.

Junior Adrian Figueroa is hitting .318, is third in hits with 27 and second in RBI with 29.
 
Redshirt senior Alec Sanchez is back in the lineup and is making an impact. He is currently on a four-game hitting streak, going 7-20 with three RBI.
 
IN BUNCHES
The Panthers offense continues to deliver in this season.
 
In 2023 FIU has pushed home 149 runs across 22 games.
 
They have scored at least five runs in 13 games and reached double digits five times.
 
The Panthers are 9-4 in games in which they score at least five runs.
 
FIU has not been shutout in 2023.
 
FLAMETHROWERS
Redshirt senior Angel Tiburcio has been near perfect over his last four starts.
 
In the last 15 innings he has allowed only two runs, four walks and has struck out 13 batters. Tiburcio is 2-1 on the season and sports a team-best 2.57 ERA.
 
Redshirt junior Ryan Cabarcas has been the Panthers ace since the start of the season. Through six starts he leads the team in innings pitched at 23.1, has struck out the third most batters in C-USA with 35 and has issued only seven walks.
 
OUT THE GATE
Redshirt junior Kevin Martin put in one of the most impressive outings of any pitcher this season against Florida Gulf Coast.

He was perfect in his three innings, sitting down nine-straight Eagles while striking out five.

He was now not allowed a run in four of five appearances and kept the opposition hitless for a second time.
 
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS
UAB is 5-15 this season and are coming off a 12-2 eight-inning loss to Alabama.
 
Senior Christian Hall has been the Blazers' top bat in 2023. He is hitting .286 with 20 hits, 17 RBI and 16 walks.
 
Junior Blayze Berry leads the Blazers on the mound. He has pitched a team-high 28.1 innings over five starts, is 1-1 and has struck out a team-best 28 batters.
