MIAMI (Mar. 31, 2023) – Baseball continues its five-game road trip this weekend with a three-game C-USA set against Middle Tennessee. Game one is on Friday March 31 with first pitch set for 5 p.m. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+.
 
HITTING ON ALL CYLINDERS
FIU currently boasts five starters hitting above .300 after 26 games.
 
Junior Ryne Guida has been the Panthers most consistent hitter and leads the team with a .347 average. He also leads the team in hits with 35 and RBI with 30.
 
Junior Dante Girardi sits second in average at .337. He is second on the team in walks with 16 and holds the longest hit streak this season at 13 games. Girardi is coming off a 2-4 performance against then-No. 23 Miami with two RBI.
 
Redshirt senior Mike Rosario is third on the team in average with a .317 from the leadoff spot. His 33 hits rank second on the team, while his five home runs and 14 stolen bases are team highs.
 
Redshirt senior Alec Sanchez holds a .314 average. He is coming off a six-game hitting streak and most recently went 2-4 against the Canes with a home run and two RBI.
 
Junior Adrian Figueroa is hitting .310, is third in RBI with 19 and leads the Panthers in walks with 17.

On defense the Panthers boast the No. 3 putout man in Figueroa (217), the No. 3 and No. 7 assisters in Girardi and Steven Ondina (65 and 57, respectively) and the best double play trio as Figueroa, Girardi and Ondina are all in the top 10 with Figueroa at the top spot (21), Girardi at the fourth spot (16) and Ondina at the seventh spot (12)
 
SCOUTING THE BLUE RADIERS
MTSU is 11-13 this season and is in the midst of a four-game losing streak with a series sweep against FAU.
 
Senior Brett Coker is leading the way for the Blue Raiders offense. He is hitting a team-best .385, is tied for the team lead in hits with 37 and is the top base stealer with nine.
 
Junior Jaden Hamm has been a top arm for MTSU in 2023. In his team-high 39 innings he is 3-2 with a team-bests in ERA at 3.23 and strike outs with 45.
