MIAMI (Mar. 9, 2023) – Baseball continues its nine-game homestand this weekend with a three-game set against Marist. The series starts on Friday March 10 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
 
SHUT IT DOWN
The Panthers are coming off one of their most impressive victories of the young 2023 season after defeating Stetson, 5-0, Wednesday night.
 
Jackson Ritchey, Bryan Pazos, Richie Pena and Cameron Knox combined for a near perfect game, allowing only two hits and issuing only two walks.
 
Ritchey started the game and picked up the win after throwing four hitless innings and striking out six Hatters.
 
RAKING
FIU currently boast four players hitting above .300 after 14 games.
 
Redshirt senior Mike Rosario and junior Adrian Figueroa are tied for the team lead in hits with 19, with Figueroa owning the top average at .365.

Rosario is hitting .352 from the leadoff spot, leads the team in homeruns with three and steals with six. He is also on a seven-game hitting streak.
 
Junior Ryne Guida leads the Panthers in RBI with 15 and has earned 17 hits in 54 at bats.
 
Junior Dante Girardi has pushed his average to .315 with a five-game hit streak. He has multiple hits in four of those five games. Girardi is also leading the team in runs scored with 15 and walks at 10.
 
Redshirt senior Alec Sanchez is 11-35 this season for a .314 average.

SCOUTING THE RED FOXES
Marist is 2-8 this season and are coming off a 6-5 win over Bucknell.
 
Senior Colin Mackle leads the Red Fox offense with a team-high 12 hits and .343 average. He also has a homerun and five RBI this season.
 
Junior Brian Yetter has been Marist's ace in 2023 leading the team in innings pitched with 13 and strike outs with 12.
 
This will mark just the second time FIU and Marist have faced each other. The first was back in 1998 when the Panthers defeated the Red Foxes, 17-4.
