AUSTIN, Texas (June 10, 2023) - Sophomore
Michaelle Valentin's personal best mark of 56.12m in the discus earned her a 10th place finish and second-team All-American honors to conclude FIU's stint at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Valentin follows
Filippa Miller who last year earned second-team honors in the pole vault for the Panthers.
"Michaelle went out and performed at her best on the biggest stage," said head coach
Ryan Heberling. "That's all you can ever ask for. She was completely deserving of this moment."
RESULTS
Valentin's performance concludes FIU's week at the NCAA Championships, which included
Filippa Miller competing in the pole vault and Queshun Watson-Riggins in the long jump, the most athletes
Ryan Heberling has sent to nationals since taking over the program in 2015.
