MIAMI – FIU Women's Soccer, the reigning Conference USA Champions, announced its 2025 schedule on Friday afternoon, highlighted by three Power-4 opponents and a rematch of last season's CUSA Championship matchup.
The first season under new head coach Mat Dunn will see a 16-game campaign with the Panthers playing an even split of eight non-conference games and eight Conference USA matchups.
The culmination of the 2025 season will see FIU look to reclaim their seat at the top of CUSA at the Conference USA Tournament hosted in Lynchburg, Virginia by Liberty University.
The Panthers' first game of the year will come on August 17 at a powerhouse in Florida State, who have won four NCAA Championships in their program history, most recently coming in 2023. Last season, the Seminoles beat UNC to win the ACC Championship, but were downed by Vanderbilt in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to end their season.
The Panthers will stay on the road at North Florida on August 21, before coming home for their first home match of the season, facing in-state rival Florida Atlantic on August 24 at 4 p.m. FIU will have two more home matches, both against Atlantic Sun opponents in Stetson and FGCU on August 28 and August 31 respectively.
The Panthers will hit the road for three more away games before conference-play begins, facing UCF in Orlando on September 4 before coming back to South Florida to play Miami in Coral Gables on September 7. FIU's final non-conference matchup of the season will come against their fourth ASUN opponent at Jacksonville.
The Panthers' first three games of conference-play will be on the road, starting with CUSA newcomer Delaware, on September 21, before heading back down south to play Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State on September 25 and 28, respectively. Delaware ended their 2024 campaign with a 6-7-6 overall record and a 4-2-4 record in CAA-play.
FIU's first home match of CUSA-play will see Liberty travel to the 305 for a rematch of last season's CUSA Championship bout that saw FIU triumph over the Flames to win their first CUSA title. The game will be played on October 5 at 1 p.m.
FIU will travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to play Middle Tennessee, a team the Panthers beat twice last season, including in the first round of the CUSA Tournament. FIU's final three regular season matches will come on their home pitch, first facing off against Sam Houston (8-7–3, 5-4 CUSA last season) before Louisiana Tech (2-10-5, 0-7-2 CUSA last season) comes into town.
FIU's last game of the regular season will come against another CUSA newcomer in Missouri State. The Bears are coming off an NCAA Tournament berth after winning the Missouri Valley Conference and going 13-5-3 overall with a 8-1-2 record in the MVC.
With new head coach Mat Dunn leading the program, the Panthers will look to build off a season that saw their first NCAA Tournament appearance and most wins since the 2011 season.
