MIAMI, Fla.– FIU men's basketball has added a familiar CUSA face to the 2026-27 roster, signing Kennesaw State transfer forward Ramone Seals (Tampa, Fla.), who appeared in 22 games for the Owls last season.

Last year, Seals averaged 7.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and shot 42 percent from the field, scoring in double figures in ten of them. He kicked off the season with his first-career double-double against Paine, scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds (Nov. 3) and followed with 18 and 9 at Florida A&M (Nov. 8).

He had a sensational performance a few games later, scoring a career-best 25 points in 37 minutes against Rice, adding eight rebounds. His best performance during conference play came against Missouri State, scoring 13 points and adding three steals. He battled injury for the remainder of the season, missing the lone matchup between the Panthers and Owls in January and the NCAA Tournament matchup against Gonzaga.

Seals appeared in 18 games as a freshman, scoring 18 points in his first career collegiate appearance on Nov. 5. He also reached double-figures with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting in 32 minutes of action in a home win against the Panthers on Feb. 1, finishing the season averaging 2.9 points per game.

A standout high school player, Seals an impressive senior season at SLAM! Tampa averaging 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists per game. He was recognized as the 2022 Florida 2A District 9 Player of the Year and earned a spot on the 2022 Florida 2A All-Tournament First Team. During his high school career, he surpassed the 1,000-point mark and led his team to back-to-back Final Four appearances.

Seals is the son of former NFL defensive lineman Ray Seals (NFL 1988-97) and Andrea Moore, and has one brother and one sister.
