MIAMI– FIU volleyball freshman outside hitter Lana Sesar was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday. The Croatian outside had a strong offensive weekend in the Panthers' 4-0 run through the city of Tallahassee.

In four games, Sesar swatted 59 kills and hit .261, recording 10 or more in all four including a 24-kill match in five sets against Louisiana. Averaging 4.21 kills/set and 1.79 digs/set for the weekend, Sesar recorded a double-double with 10 digs against the Ragin' Cajuns.

To open the weekend, Sesar recorded 12 kills against Hampton in three sets and 13 kills in three sets against Florida A&M, also leading the Panthers with ten in their sweep of RV Florida State on Sunday. Overall, she tallied seven aces, seven blocks and 25 digs in the four matches.

This season, the freshman in her first season of college volleyball is leading the Panthers with 134 total kills, adding four double-doubles and two 20-kill matches on her ledger.
