During halftime, Dr. Rosa Jones, former FIU Vice President of Student Affairs, will be recognized for her efforts to promote females in athletics.
National Women and Girls in Sport Day is a C-USA initiative. The NGWSD began in 1987 and celebrates women's and girl's participation and excellence in sports. It is also an important day to promote the continued expansion of opportunities for females to play sports and live physically active lives.
